From Challenges to Celebrations – The Journey to a Healthy Organizational Culture

Overview: Prepare to celebrate your success

Celebrating success of any kind is one of life’s wonderful experiences.

And for an organization that has improved its culture, taking the time to recognize and acknowledge those efforts is well-earned.

We read about them in magazines that publish their annual list of “Best Companies to Work For.

I recently worked with an organization that had some challenges ahead of them and the wisdom to understand that those challenges had heavy costs associated with them. The original assessments showed:

Raised anxiety levels. Which negatively impacted well-being and mental health.

Lack of connectivity. Was challenged all the way around…between individuals, teams and the organization as a whole.

Ineffective communication. Communication and trust are dimensions of culture that we measure and they had some big boulders in front of them.

However… as they say…the longer the road and steeper the climb, the sweeter the reward.

For the past year, this organization’s leadership put consistent focus and actions in place to improve their culture and the results were worthy of their first celebration.

Participation rates improved 14%

Anxiety levels never again hit the high rates previously shown and were at manageable levels

Connectedness ratings improved 9% and climbing

Responses to some of the open-ended questions asked were so positive they were added to all aspects of the organization’s recruitment activities.

This group of leaders is committed to the process and continues to work towards seeing how much more they can impact the goal of having and maintaining a healthy culture.

In fact, Henry Ford said it much better than I could…

Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.
